Tabber and Stringer Machine

Tabbing-stringing is one of the most important processes in solar cell modules. The quality of your electricity depends on how well you bond and fasten those tabs to make sure they  reach the estimated efficiency!

The process of bonding the solar cell to a ribbon is called tabbing while line-stringing is a process that involves arranging solar cells into rows.

The entire process is done automatically by Tabber and Stringer Machine.

Tabber and Stringer Machine
This machine usually begins with placing cell tabs in a row, cutting the ribbon from the ribbon reel and gripping it on top and bottom between rows of the cells to connect them together in a straight line.

To ensure each cell is well connected to the ribbon, all cells must be vacuum-fixed onto the Taber and Stringer Belt from moving around.

Then the Teflon belt conveyors the connected cells to the welding part. The stringing process is done with the help of hot air that’s heated up to 320-350 degrees.

The cells and ribbons are soldered for less than 4 seconds!

A well-functional Tabber and Stringer Machine belt should have the property as follows:

(1)  High strength and long lifetime.

This is because it’s used on machines that operate continuously, so if yours breaks after only short usage then there will most likely reduce your welding efficiency

Esone chooses PTFE Laminated Belt or PTFE Seamless Belt or specially formulated PTFE Conveyor Belt, these belts are designed with the best strong structure to meet customers’ requirements.

(2)  Breathable  Surface.

It’s important that the vacuum suction is able to pass through this belt, so it must be breathable.

Esone normally supplies belts with a variety of different sizes and designs.
Normally there are 4 lines of holes evenly paved on the belt.
(Hole size is around 10mm~20mm shaped round or rectangle)

(3)  Accurate sizes
Esone Automatic Cutting Machine

With the belt moving at relatively high speeds, any misalignment would ruin ribbon and cell welding which increases the solar panel defective rate.

Esone uses automatic cutting machines to ensure the proper sizes compared with traditional hand-cut belts with scissors.

(4)  Good PTFE(Teflon) Coating

The belts will be passed through the heat and pressure of a stringing part.
The uneven or insufficient coating on the fabric will show pimples or even peeling PTFE away from glass fiber, leaving it vulnerable to damage.

Esone uses 100% imported PTFE Liquid along with E-glass fiber fabric to ensure properly finished products.

(5) Proper thickness

The belt should have a proper thickness so that hot goes through without too much difficulty within a short time.

Esone provides belts with thicknesses ranging from 0.25mm~0.50mm.

(Other thickness is also available, email: sale@esone.com for details)

Advantages:

Structure:
Two layers of PTFE Fiberglass Fabric Premium are laminated together which ensures excellent strength compared to one layer of PTFE Conveyor Belt

Coating Surface:
Each layer of the belts is chosen from PTFE Fiberglass Fabric Premium series to ensure enough PTFE coating, between 60% ~ 68% PTFE Content for good function of the belt.

Belt Joints:
To guarantee a smooth and even surface for the whole belt, we designed our innovative finger joining.
